My palaeontological research follows two main focus topics / questions:
- How do ecosystems evolve in geological time (see e.g., here, and here)?
- What are the drivers of marine animal biodiversity in geological time (see e.g., here, and here)?
I am interested in Palaeozoic cephalopods (commonly known as nautiloids) and have fun describing entire assemblages that are new to science (see e.g., here and here).
I am interested in the early evolution of reefs (see e.g., here, and here).
I have a long standing interest in the Ordovician strata of Estonia and its fossils. And I collaborate with Estonian colleagues since many years (see e.g., here, and here).
